This project is a proposal for a passenger rail station in Christiansburg, Virginia. It will serve as a multi-model transit hub for the New River Valley with direct vehicular, foot and bicycle traffic from the famous Huckleberry Trail. Adjacent to the site, opposite the railway is Christiansburg newly opened Huckleberry Park. A key design feature is to connect the trail and the park via the train station. This is accomplished through an underground tunnel and by bringing bus and car parking below ground to create a continuous expanse of park and trail to the train station.
